Wayfairers Bread
Wayfairers Bread was made in the 15th century by travelers. The bread was easily packed and contained all the nutrition necessary to sustain a person during his long journey.
1 pkg. (24 oz.) Scrumptious Scone Mix,
1/2 cup honey,
1/3 cup oil,
1 cup water,
1/2 of Wayfairers Mix.
Wayfairers Mix: Mix together
1/2 cup toasted Pepitas,
1/2 cup toasted Soy Nuts,
1/2 cup toasted Sunflower Seeds,
1/2 cup toasted Pine Nuts,
1/2 cup toasted Pumpkin Seeds and
2 cups Quick Oats.
Prepare the scones according to the package directions adding the honey and 1/2 the Wayfairers Mix. After scooping raw batter, roll into the remaining 1/2 of the Wayfairers mixture to coat the outside. Place the scone batter on a parchment lined or greased sheet pan. Brush with egg wash is optional (2 eggs beaten with 2 tablespoons of water). Bake in Preheated 350° oven for 15-20 minutes.

Any of the above ingredients may be substituted for the recommended fruit
amounts in the recipe. If you are using an ingredient that has a high moisture
content, such as sour cream, lemon, apple or pineapple juice, consider this as liquid
and use it as a replacement for equal amounts of water in the recipe. Replacing the water
in the recipe with a complimentary fruit juice is an excellent way to enhance flavors.
You may use additional dry ingredients with your fruits, such as nuts, chocolate chips etc. without
changing the liquid in the recipe. *If you are using poppyseed instead of fruit,
use 1/8 cup. Using too many poppyseeds will cause your scone to be bitter.

A variety of different flavors of brownies can be made by adding your favorite candy.
Brake or chop candy into pieces and sprinkle either on top of your brownie mix before
baking or stir the pieces throughout the mix and then bake. You can enhance brownies
by melting caramel squares and pouring over the top after baking and adding nuts,
coconut, and candy pieces etc. Half the fun of baking is being creative.
Think of your favorite toppings and add them.
